Lower Greenville
Lower Greenville is a mix of glam and rock n’ roll. It is a street full of shops, restaurants, tattoo parlors, and has a more outdoorsy vibe compared to downtown. This neighborhood is very walkable and seems to have something for everyone.
The Good
- There is walkability to restaurants/bars and grocery stores, as well as live music live music; not to mention a short Uber ride to Uptown
- There is so much nature and character down all the streets, it’s reminds us of Austin
- There are great fitness and health-conscious eating options, and organic grocery stores
The Bad
- There is a lot of nature…so bring your mosquito spray in the summer
- Bars in the Lower Greenville area close at midnight, unlike 2am like the rest of Dallas
If live music is your jam, this is a spot for you. Granada Theater, built in 1946, not only has your fav cover bands, but an attached farm to table restaurant, Sundown at Granada, to get some grub. We can’t forget to mention our favorite beer garden, The Truck Yard, which has rotating food trucks daily, live music, and known as Dallas’ outdoor playground for adults.
Our favorite rooftop hotspot is HG Supply, which has AC in the summer and fireplaces to heat things up in the winter…not to mention their sunset toasts which they handout a complimentary gimlet cocktail to showcase and thank their guests for coming in. If you walk down the street, you can literally smell the Greenville Ave Pizza Co, omg nom nom nom. Looking for a fresh pastry or baguette sandwich, then Boulangerie by Village Baking Company is a must to check out. If you have a sweet tooth after dinner, then check out dessert pop-ins like Val’s Cheesecake, Joy Macarons, and Botolino Gelato Artigianle.
Lower Greenville offers a relaxed atmosphere, foodie hotspots, and pubs. If you are looking to buy, it’s a unique spot because it has a variety of bungalows from the early 1900’s, to newer traditional style homes. All the houses have unique character, many of them have larger treed lots, that allow for guest homes, gated detached garages, or a great place for outdoor living. For leasing, you get a variety of new apartments/condos with fancy finish outs, or older single family/duplexes/multi-family where you have room to run in the backyard and even plant vegetable gardens. The owner of Dallas Reserve lived in this part of town for many years, flipped her 1930’s cottage with a 3-story pool house cabin, and learned all the ins and outs of this charming place.
